HeartStrong Presents: Youth Empowerment Project

The slow dance with the religious right is over. No longer will we permit them to occupy our time or interfere with empowering our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender brothers and sisters.

One out of four youth who comes out to her/his family is cast out. The number of GLBT youth who attempt or commit suicide is not decreasing. Bullying from students and teachers is reported regularly. 
                     This is NOT acceptable!

HeartStrong’s Youth Empowerment Project is distributing educational kits to every school counselor in public, private and religious schools over the next few years. Each kit contains valuable new resources including an educator’s guide and a modern guide for dealing with coming out issues for GLBT youth. Students are also being provided with free materials for peer-to-peer outreach.
